I’m so sorry
for late to post this blog about ICTE. I thought this article was posted properly,
but it didn’t, so I am posting again. I’ve
been here for nearly 3 months since arrival and got abundant experiences at
ICTE including both good and bad experiences. Then, I’d like to write about my studying
at ICTE. At the beginning, I struggled to study English in the group of
international students since I have to express my opinions by myself even
though I didn’t have any confident about speaking English. Also, it is obvious
that the education system in Australia is totally different from Japanese one
in terms of approach which means that a student-centred approach like a group
work or hands-on learning is the main method to teach in Australia while Japan takes
a teacher-centred approach such as passive learning or lecture. This experience
is totally different from what I expected. In addition to that, the duration of
each class at ICTE is much longer than the classes which I took in Japan so I was
really surprised. As a results of that, in
the first week, I depressed and wanted to go back to Japan. However, I met a
lot of friendly classmates and teachers and now, thanks to them, I’m getting used
to studying at ICTE, though my English skills are still poor particularly
speaking. In these days, after the class, I usually hang out with my friends because
I got a plenty of time. This is the feature of ICTE which I like the most. To sum
up, I experienced lots of things at ICTE. I hope my studying is going to go
well.
I'm happy that you have overcome your initial anxiety and now enjoy your studies. I hope it all goes well for you in the last month of your time here. All the best, Henno
